"The best way to experience nature is on foot."

An unforgettable adventure!
The freezing winter in Cheorwon creates this magical, almost surreal atmosphere,
and this festival truly embraces that chill,
offering a unique experience that I’ve never encountered anywhere else.
The highlight of the festival was trekking on the frozen Hantan River.
The 8 km walk on the smooth, icy surface was surrounded by
the stunning formations of the Hantan River valley.
It was both brighten and peaceful, with a touch of winter air and
serene surroundings making for an special experience.

We chose to cross the narrow suspension bridge
—slightly daunting at first—
but it offered breathtaking views of the unique landscapes
that can only be found in Cheorwon City.
Along the way, there were some stunning snow and ice sculptures that were so creative.
We couldn’t resist snapping a picture next to a few of them to capture the moment.
They made for some perfect photo opportunities and really added to the charm of the festival.

After trek day, we were pretty hungry and the festival had some amazing traditional
Korean street food to enjoy, which were perfect to warm us up
after the long walk on the ice.
The festival’s mix of nature, adventure, and culture makes it a unique winter experience.
With the frozen river, ice sculptures, and great food,
